Hector Cantu Joins Heritage as Editorial Director!
Dallas, TX: Hector Cantu has joined Dallas-based Heritage Auction Galleries as Editorial Director. In this position, he will oversee new publishing initiatives for the auction house.
Previously, Cantu worked for such publishing companies as Belo Corp., Hearst Corp., and Hispanic Business Inc. In 2000, he launched the newspaper comic strip Baldo with his partner, Carlos Castellanos. Currently, the strip is syndicated by Universal Press Syndicate to more than 200 daily and Sunday newspapers nationwide.
"I have admired Heritage for many years, mostly because I have been a comic book and comic art collector for a long time," Cantu said. "It's a privilege to work with some of the most ardent collectors and collectible experts around."
"Hector brings with him a set of skills that will allow Heritage to explore some exciting new directions," said Co-Chairman Jim Halperin. "We're all looking forward to working with him in taking Heritage to a whole new level."
