Heritage Donates $33,500 to Katrina Relief Effort!
DALLAS, TEXAS: Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers (HGA) of Dallas, Texas, and its employees, have made a donation in the amount of $33,500, $28,500 to the American Red Cross, and $5,000 to a local Dallas organization, to aid in Katrina relief efforts.
"In the wake of the Katrina disaster, Heritage's approximately 250 employees donated $16,750 to aid in relief efforts," said Jim Halperin, Co-Chairman of HGA. "Heritage matched that donation, for a total of $33,500 to be used to help the victims of this catastrophic event. That's roughly $134 per employee, which I think speaks volumes about the compassion of our people."
"As a Dallas-based company, we have strong ties to our neighbors to the East," continued Heritage Co-Chairman Steve Ivy, "and I'm very pleased, although not at all surprised, that the Heritage family rallied to support those who were devastated by this storm. The Red Cross is an outstanding organization that we have worked with for years through company blood drives held several times annually, and we're happy to be able to aid them in their efforts to help those caught in the wake of Hurricane Katrina."
