C.H. Meylan Exceptionally Rare Miniature Minute Repeating Pocket Watch, circa 1890
Case: 18k yellow gold, 28.5 mm, plain hinged back and bezel, gold inner cuvette, No. 6089, open face
Dial: enamel, radial Arabic hour numerals, red five minute numerals, black minute track, subsidiary seconds, blue spade hands
Movement: No. 5330, nickel bridge with straight line damaskeening, marked "superior adjustment", jeweled thru the hammers, repeat activated from a gold slide on the rim, approximately 32 jewels, straight line lever escapement, bi-metallic balance with gold timing screws and Breguet spring
Signed: dial and movement signed C.H.Meylan Brassus

Note: Charles Henry Meylan is a highly esteemed and eminent watchmaker who worked in both Switzerland and America. He manufactured his on line of watches under the name C. H. Meylan, Brassus and also collaborated with the American Waltham Watch Co. Meylan held three American patents which protected his innovative repeater designs which were used in the rare Waltham repeaters. The original fitted box accompanies this ultra rare repeater which may very well be the smallest in existence from the 1890 time period.
