'Spectacular' Kashmir Sapphire Ring, The Rarest Sapphire Of All, Could Bring $250,000+ At Heritage Auctions Fine Jewelry Event
April 30 auction in New York to feature two Kashmir Sapphires, diamonds and emeralds
DALLAS, TX – An 8.99 carat Kashmir Sapphire, Diamond, Platinum Ring, AGL certified, Kashmir, No heat, is expected to bring more than $250,000 when it comes across the block as the highlight of a deep line-up of more than 1,000 lots in Heritage Auctions’ April 30 Fine Jewelry Auction.
The auction will take place at the Fletcher-Sinclair Mansion (Ukrainian Institute of America), 2 East 79th Street (at 5th Ave.).
“This ring is of significant importance,” said Jill Burgum, Director of Fine Jewelry at Heritage. “Kashmir is the rarest sapphire and the mine is all mined out. What makes this particular sapphire even more impressive is that the color is natural. There has been no color enhancement or treatment done. The sapphire is accompanied by an AGL certificate stating: ‘Kashmir, No Heat, and it’s spectacular.’”
While it is rare enough to have even a single Kashmir Sapphire surface in a single auction, the 8.98 sapphire is complemented by another, smaller 4.86 carat Kashmir Sapphire, Diamond, White Gold Ring, No heat, which carries a pre-auction estimate of $60,000+.
Following the dazzling sapphire at the top of the auction a 4.26 carat Diamond, Platinum Ring (GIA F/IF) is expected to capture the fancy of collectors given the clarity of the diamond. It carries a pre-auction estimate of $100,000+.
“This diamond is graded by GIA as F color, Internally Flawless,” said Burgum, “just about as good as it gets, especially at 4.26 carats.”
A 9.95 carat Columbian Emerald, Diamond, Platinum Ring (estimate: $100,000+) presents collectors with a magnificent example of a classic Columbian emerald, graded by AGL while a 9.81 carat Ruby, Diamond, Platinum Ring is expected to bring $150,000+ and a Fancy Light Yellow Diamond, Diamond, Gold Ring is generating some buzz with a $140,000+ pre-auction estimate.
Further highlights include, but are not limited to:
Diamond, White Gold Ring: Estimate: $80,000+.
Fancy Intense Yellow Diamond, Diamond, Platinum, Gold Ring: Estimate: $80,000+.
Diamond, Platinum Ring: Estimate: $60,000+.
Colored Diamond, Gold Ring: Estimate: $60,000+.
