Condition Notes: Twin pear-shaped diamonds define the composition of this platinum ring, arranged in mirrored orientation for a deliberate, sculptural presentation. The stones are slightly different in proportions, measuring approximately 7.00 x 5.40 x 2.95 mm and 7.50 x 5.65 x 3.00 mm. One presents with cleaner overall clarity, while the other bears slightly more reflective, carbon colored inclusions visible under magnification, They both bear a warmer coloration in comparison to the baguette-cut diamonds.
Under magnification, neither pear shows major evidence of contact damage or significant abrasion. The tips are securely enclosed within V prongs for protection yet not allowing full inspection. Some of the standard prongs along the broader curves display evidence of possible prior retipping, indicating maintenance over time.
The shank exhibits markings consistent with wear and prior ownership. XRF analysis registers the alloy at approximately 60% platinum and 30% palladium, accounting for the palladium component within the mounting. Overall condition reflects age appropriate wear without structural concern.
