Condition Notes: This gorgeous 17.75 x 11.80 x 5.00 mm tanzanite exhibits a primarily violet coloration, yet as is typical of tanzanite, secondary hues of blue and subtle flashes of red blend into the overall appearance due to the mineral’s natural trichroism, the tendency to display up to three distinct colors. A semi closed under gallery has been incorporated into the design, lending a gentle rolling luster that enhances the stone’s light return in combination with its fine cutting.
The pendant is crafted in 18k gold and is marked Michael Christoff / 18k, while the accompanying chain is in 14k gold. Please note that the chain is permanently affixed to the pendant and would require minor jeweler’s work to separate and to install a bail for stringing onto another chain.
