Le Fol, Paris, Fine Gold, Diamond And Bloodstone Verge Fusee With Chatelaine, circa 1775Case: 32 mm, 18k gold, two body, case back set with mine-cut diamonds in raised relief gold floral mounts against a bloodstone base, matching diamond, beryl and bloodstone chatelaine with crank key and vase-form gold and bloodstone seal, measuring 4 1/2 inches top to bottom
Dial: white enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer five minute numerals, gold star-form hands
Movement: gilt full plate, cylindrical pillars, pierced and engraved two footed cock, verge with fusee and chain
Signed: Fol, Paris on the movement
Jean Fol, Paris 1770-88 is listed in G.H. Baillie's "Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World" as clockmaker to Louis XVI from 1777 and watchmaker to the King of Poland
