Condition Report*:
Colored Gems:
Type(s): Emerald
Shape(s): Round
Count: 1 - 25
Avg Quality: Good
Metals:
Gold
Overall Condition: Very Good
Condition Notes: *While this ring is sizeable, we do not recommend resizing it, as a notable French maker’s mark and a French eagle’s head hallmark are located precisely where the sizing procedure would take place. Additionally, the design of the ring shank would be difficult to replicate. For originality and collectability, we recommend leaving the ring as is. The emeralds are in very good condition, displaying vibrant coloration and an abundance of likely tremolite/actinolite inclusions.
Van Cleef & Arpels: Parisian jeweler Alfred Van Cleef opened his salon in partnership with his brothers-in-law, Julien and Charles Arpels, in 1906. The company quickly earned a reputation for using only the highest-quality colored gemstones. Their timeless designs employed elegant curves and clean, fluid lines, capturing the essence of beauty in motion. In 1930, the firm patented the first minaudiere, a purse-like compartmentalized vanity case. In 1933, Van Cleef and Arpels introduced "invisible setting" or "mystery setting." This innovative technique took the market by storm. The firm continues under the umbrella of the Richemont Group. Type(s): Emerald
