Condition Notes: This is a gorgeous piece suited to both men and women, its balanced design and enduring reverence for diamonds giving it universal charm. When the pin stem is threaded through for wear, the piece displays wonderful presence, featuring 3.30 mm diamonds of high color and clarity. The 18k yellow gold leaf accents provide a tasteful contrast, and the piece overall is crafted in platinum. The reverse of one leaf component is marked 18k/Plat, adjacent to a hallmark for McTeigue & Co. This piece comes with the original design rendering by the manufacturers which adds an additional layer of presentation.
McTeigue & Company: Founded in New York in 1885 by Walter P. McTeigue, the firm established a reputation for manufacturing fine diamond jewelry. By the 1920’s, under the name McTeigue & Company, their designs were showcased on a regular basis in the jewelry trade publication “Jewelers’ Circular.” The business has changed hands on more than one occasion, most recently in 1991, when McTeigue & Co. was acquire by Tiffany & Co.
