The necklace wraps gracefully around the neck and terminates in a 14k gold shield-shaped component, accented with black enamel, that supports the onyx pendant, detailed with a symmetrical gold and seed pearl motif. The pendant features a carved-out cavity on the reverse intended for a keepsake, and an included oval swatch of fabric fits within, though no crystal covering is present. The clasp is a yellow metal lobster type. Minor chips are visible on the back of the pendant, consistent with age and use—a fine example of sentimental Victorian jewelry, blending symbolism with craftsmanship.
