Condition Notes: After magnified inspection, it is likely that the cultured pearls in this piece have undergone treatment to achieve their highly unusual iridescent surfaces. In addition to treatment, the pearls have been faceted in a pattern reminiscent of kidney ore (botryoidal hematite), creating a distinctive texture not commonly seen in traditional pearl strands. Despite some nacre loss visible under close inspection, the pearls contribute to an eye-catching and unique prayer necklace. The central tassel and diamond spiral portion test as 18k gold, while the upper chain and o-ring clasp test as 14k.
