Condition Report*:
Colored Gems:
Type(s): Apatite and Tanzanite
Shape(s): Pear
Count: 1 - 25
Avg Quality: Good
Overall Condition: Very Good
Condition Notes: A bluesy pairing of Tanzanite and Paraiba-colored Apatite! When first discovered, these blue apatites bore a striking resemblance to the revered Paraiba Tourmalines of Brazil causing quite a stir. At the time and even now, these apatites mirror the vibrant hue but come at a fraction of the cost, capturing the gem world's attention. Despite their rating of 5 on the Mohs hardness scale, which limits their use in everyday rings, apatite is not overly fragile, though care should be taken during wear. Like tanzanite and most Paraiba tourmaline, this variety of blue apatite is accepted and presumed heat-treated within the trade. Both stones are accompanied by AIG (American International Gemlab) reports.
