It's the mid-1950's and while other watch companies were trying figure out how to produce an electric timepiece or at least if and when they should produce an electric timepiece, Angelus decided to produce a quarter hour repeating, automatic wristwatch and they called it "The Tinkler." In retrospect, perhaps, not the best use of the company's resources and perhaps not the best name but it did make for the extremely limited production of one of the oddest wristwatches of the latter half of the 20th century. With less than 100 pieces presumed manufactured and only a handful showing up in the market over the past 20 years, here is your chance to possess the truly elusive Tinkler.

Condition: Very fine example of an extremely odd and rare timepiece. Watch remains unpolished with sharp lug and case corners. Case back stamps are strong and defined. A few light surface scratches on the case back but otherwise no dings or scratches of note. Crown might be a replacement - it is signed "M" or "W". Gorgeous original dial. Well preserved movement. Only one watchmakers mark on the inner case back. The watch sets, winds and runs and the repeater function operates correctly but the service history appears to have been minimal and the piece is sold as described with no further warranty. As always, a fresh service is recommended for everyday use.
