With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1962 and sale on July 26th, 1962. In 1954 General Motors commissioned 20 Patek Philippe reference 1578's for their top executives. These twenty 1578 watches are marked "1578GM" inside the case back. They were the only 1578's ever made that left the factory with black dials.
