Rolex Rare Stainless Steel Oyster Wristwatch Ref: 6480 with Tropical Underlined Dial and "Bart Simpson" applied logo, circa 1962
Case: 34mm, stainless steel, three piece case, screw down case back. Only top portion of numbers showing due to bracelet rub. Appears 778007 or 738007
Dial: tropical dial with applied markers and crown. "Rolex" and "Oyster" in gold. "Shock Resisting" in silver with silver underlined, luminous alpha hands
Movement: Rolex 17 jewel, caliber 1210 movement.
Band: modern brown leather distressed strap with a generic stainless buckle

Circa: 1962
Condition: The watch is in fine condition and the owner reports it was serviced earlier this year. Excellent case. No dings or scratches of note. Minor bracelet tab rubs under the lugs. Exquisite tropical dial with what appears to be some old lume debris gathered about the very edge of the dial from about the 7 marker to the 8 marker. Consistent spotting and aging to hand set. The watch sets, runs and is keeping time.
