Condition Notes: These Van Cleef & Arpels earrings feature natural pearls and diamonds set in platinum. The design includes removable pearl drops suspended from fine platinum wires, allowing for adaptable wear.

Two European-cut diamonds, each measuring approximately 5.00 x 5.00 mm, anchor the earrings, their broad facets producing a bright play of light. While the primary construction is platinum, the clip backings test as 18k white gold. The diamonds are in excellent condition, with clean surfaces and strong color and clarity.

These earrings are accompanied by a signed Van Cleef & Arpels box, in addition to a GIA Portrait Book. GIA Portrait Books are custom, high-end presentation books produced by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) to accompany particularly significant gemstones, most often large, rare, or historically notable diamonds, colored stones, or pearls. They go well beyond a standard grading report, offering a detailed, visually rich documentation of the gem.
Van Cleef & Arpels: Parisian jeweler Alfred Van Cleef opened his salon in partnership with his brothers-in-law, Julien and Charles Arpels, in 1906. The company quickly earned a reputation for using only the highest-quality colored gemstones. Their timeless designs employed elegant curves and clean, fluid lines, capturing the essence of beauty in motion. In 1930, the firm patented the first minaudiere, a purse-like compartmentalized vanity case. In 1933, Van Cleef and Arpels introduced "invisible setting" or "mystery setting." This innovative technique took the market by storm. The firm continues under the umbrella of the Richemont Group.
