The cushion-shaped dial and integrated bracelet are finished in a distinctive bark-like texture, while a radiant frame of baguette and tapered baguette-cut diamonds elegantly encircles the dial. The clasp is marked Piaget and VCANY 39883, and both sides of the bracelet feature solid 3/8 inch extenders that continue the textured motif. Included with the watch is a vintage light green Van Cleef & Arpels pouch. The mechanical movement winds, runs, and sets properly, though servicing is advised for timekeeping accuracy.
Van Cleef & Arpels: Parisian jeweler Alfred Van Cleef opened his salon in partnership with his brothers-in-law, Julien and Charles Arpels, in 1906. The company quickly earned a reputation for using only the highest-quality colored gemstones. Their timeless designs employed elegant curves and clean, fluid lines, capturing the essence of beauty in motion. In 1930, the firm patented the first minaudiere, a purse-like compartmentalized vanity case. In 1933, Van Cleef and Arpels introduced "invisible setting" or "mystery setting."
