Condition Notes: Bueche Girod 18k white and yellow gold lady’s wristwatch, circa 1970, with a mother-of-pearl dial and diamond-set bezel and bracelet. The design features a wide openwork lattice bracelet in textured and polished yellow gold, inset with eighteen full-cut diamonds. At its center, an oval-shaped white mother-of-pearl dial offers a soft iridescence, signed "Bueche Girod," and is elegantly framed by two concentric rows of full-cut diamonds set in white gold. The hidden push-button box clasp completes the watch, with a figure eight latch on one side, and mountings on the other side where a second latch has since been lost to time. It is in good overall condition, with crisp detailing and typical signs of wear consistent with age. A few diamonds display nicks and abrasions, and the piece retains its vintage charm and luxurious presence.
Bueche Girod: Bueche Girod was a Swiss watchmaker founded in 1947 by Vital Bueche and Edwige Girod in Biel/Bienne. Renowned for sculptural gold designs and mechanical precision, the brand supplied movements to elite names like Cartier and Universal Genève. Its signature style—gem-set bezels, tiger’s-eye dials, and bold case shapes—flourished in the 1960s and '70s. Though the brand disappeared in the 1980s during the quartz upheaval, its timepieces remain sought-after today for their rarity, craftsmanship, and quiet elegance. Avg Color: G-H-I
