		 		 Bailey, Banks and Biddle: Originating in Philadelphia, the firm was known as Bailey & Kitchen, after the founders Joseph Trowbridge Bailey and Andrew B. Kitchen. When they opened their doors in 1832, the firm specialized in silverware production. Over the years, the firm expanded, developing interests in jewelry and collectibles. In 1878 Joseph T. Bailey II, George Banks, and Samuel Biddle entered into a partnership, renaming the business Bailey, Banks and Biddle.  In 1962, the firm became an important component of the Zales group.
