This detachable component is engineered with a grooved channel on the reverse and secured by a figure-eight safety latch. Manual adjustment of the latch may be required to ensure proper tension or friction, helping the pendant stay securely in place during wear. A removable bail allows the pendant to be worn independently with other compatible chains or designs. Maker’s marks for Burle Marx and Bruno Guidi appear exclusively on the box clasp. Burle-Marx: Haroldo Burle-Marx is a Brazilian jeweler who utilizes precious Brazilian gemstones including amethyst, opal, aquamarine, tourmaline and garnet into his handcrafted designs. Since 1955, he has been commissioned by the Brazilian government to to make jewelry gifts for visiting dignitaries and their wives. His jewelry first came to the United States in 1981.
