The rubies display a bright red coloration, free from distracting extinction or excessive darkness. Internal characteristics appear consistent with heat treatment, a common and accepted enhancement for rubies.
The inner ring shank shows a few surface markings and could benefit from polishing. The ring is stamped 18k and bears an Italian maker’s mark <*886 MI>, attributed to Giovanni and Angelo Moretti & Co. based in Milan (Milano), Italy.
