Condition Notes: This J. Lacloche "surprise watch" is a stunning bracelet and a keeper of time hidden under a bejeweled golden veil. Though currently not running, the manual winding movement is encased in luxurious 18k gold with dazzling full and single-cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.90 carat and round-shaped rubies weighing approximately 0.80 carat. The clasp is marked with the prestigious Verger Frères maker’s mark alongside French hallmarks on the case and clasp and is completed with a safety chain, a spring ring, and a figure-eight safety latch.
Lacloche: Brothers Jules, Jacques, Ferdinand and Leopold Lacloche founded Lacloche Frères, a Paris-based firm, in 1875. They manufactured vanity cases, boxes, and cigarette cases. The company peaked in the Art Deco era with their signature design, the jabot brooch, which became one of the most representational items of the 1920s-1930s Avg Color: G-H-I
