Rolex Rare Early Ref. 5508 "James Bond" Submariner, circa 1958Case: three body, stainless steel, rotating bezel, 37.5 mm, No. 309993, marked II 1958 inside the back
Dial: black, luminous markers, luminous skeleton hands, white sweep seconds
Movement: caliber 1530, 17 jewels, adjusted two positions, rhodium plated, monometallic balance wheel with Breguet spring and gold timing screws, shock absorber
Band: 7-72, steel riveted links, deployant clasp
Note: This very early ref. 5508 has the scarce 17 jewel version of the caliber 1530 automatic which is adjusted to only two positions. Most 1530 movements used in the 5508 series were fitted with 25 jewels and adjusted to five positions and temperature.
