Condition Notes: The piece is marked and tests as 14K yellow gold using both standard nitric acid and XRF testing. A rhodium coating, possibly original or applied later, was used to give the piece a white metal look. This coating is now flaking in several areas, especially around the diamond setting, exposing the yellow gold beneath.
The piece bears a stamp that appears to read "ALA," along with a nearby mark for "14K/ED." It is presented in a Mathew Trent jewelry or brooch box.
