The serpent’s head is constructed in silver-topped 18k gold, a technique commonly used in antique pieces to enhance the brilliance of diamonds. The head is set with a cluster of rose-cut diamonds, small seed and half pearls, and cabochon garnets for the eyes, forming an intricate and dimensional design.
The clasp, which tests a 14k, operates by inserting the tail into the head, where it clicks into place and is held securely. The squared end of the tail corresponds to the internal notch visible in the head, providing both a mechanical lock and a seamless aesthetic closure.
