Franck Muller Very Rare & Superlative Prototype Gold Minute Repeating Wristwatch With Perpetual Calendar & Moon Phases, circa 1986
Case: 18k rose gold, 45 mm x 30 mm, tonneau shaped, back secured with four screws mounted between the lugs, gold repeat activation slide on the side
Dial: silver with radial Arabic numerals, engine turned subsidiary dials for day, date, month and leap year indications, moon phase sector above six, double swell blue steel spade hands
Movement: No. 6283, nickel finished minute repeating lever movement, manual wind, 36 jewels, jeweled through the hammers, adjusted, straight line lever, bi-metallic compensated balance
Band: cousumain, gold buckle
Signed: Franck Muller on the dial, movement signed Tiffany & Co.

Note: This historically important timepiece is accompanied by a letter, hand written and signed by Franck Muller which states that he personally made the watch in 1986 for the Vicenza Jewellery and Watch Fair. The letter indicates that this prototype is based on a LeCoultre ebauche made for Tiffany. It is comparable to high grade minute repeating movements by Patek Philippe and was finished by Franck Muller with the addition of a perpetual calendar mechanism. This rare timepiece is considered to be the cornerstone of Franck Muller's complicated models. The very special lot includes the original letter from Mr. Muller, a signed certificate, fine wood presentation box and drawstring bag.
