Rescue has been a passion for over 25 years, and at the highest level, it takes over your life, creating both crushing pain and profound joy. I have worked closely with Hearts United for Animals, Big Dog Ranch Rescue, Pet Haven Rescue, Senior Scenter North Carolina, Jamie's Rescue, and ASPCA.

hua@hua.org - At Hearts United for Animals, we built an intake building. HUA provides an open area, rather than cages, for the newest rescues to have space to relax with human contact to help ease their trauma. I recently adopted an 11-year-old Boston Terrier from HUA deemed unadoptable due to a severe intestinal situation. I love her so much.

bdrr.org - At Big Dog Ranch Rescue, we built an intake center and numerous small buildings for pregnant moms to have their litters safely. BDRR has now grown into one of the largest rescues in the country. I'm proud to have worked with them during the early years.

pethavenrescue.org - Pet Haven Rescue is completely cage-free, with lots of acreage for the dogs to run free. The compatible dogs live together in open buildings with toddler-size beds and toys. Together we built two welcome buildings and an adoption bus for adoption events and rescue opportunities.

seniorscenternc.com - I partnered with Jeanne Keyes Strack in North Carolina to build a Senior Center renamed "THE SENIOR SCENTER." It's a constant challenge to raise funds to care for seniors. Jeanne is my hero, as seniors are my passion as well. Jeanne saves the unwanted and the ones who are cast aside. I now have six seniors of my own, the latest, a tiny chihuahua found on the street, skeletal with diabetes.

jamiesrescue.com Jamie's Rescue is an amazing rescue founded and run by one woman on her own. Jamie Robinson takes unwanted and street dogs from the Miami area. She doesn't know how to say "No." Also completely cage-free, her rescue has two acres to run freely and remember how to be dogs again.

Rescue can drain you both emotionally and financially. Vet bills are enormous. These rescues need support---particularly the small, local ones like Senior Scenter and Jamie's Rescue.

I have dedicated the last 25 years of my life to rescue and will continue as long as I am able.
