Trusts & Estates
Heritage Auctions' Trusts & Estates department offers services to professional advisors, fiduciaries, executors and beneficiaries for the valuation and disposition of tangible personal property across more than 50 categories. An assigned Trusts & Estates representative will act as primary contact throughout all stages of any valuation and/or sale process. If sale of all or part or of a collection is desired, we will advise how to best market and sell the property in order to achieve the highest returns for single items or a large collection.
Our services include:
- Proposals for auction or private treaty sales for collections.
- Formal IRS and USPAP compliant appraisals for charitable gifts, insurance and tax reporting, including income, estate and gift, from our independent, but affiliate, appraisal company.
- Complimentary valuation consultations.
- Advisory services for investment, maintenance and disposition of collections.
- Museum Services. Contact Museumservices@HA.com.
- On-site bank vault assessments.
- Collection management services.
- Topical presentations, panel discussion and lectures for estate planning councils, estate settlement departments, and other advisors to high net worth individuals and their clients related to collection management.

My grandmother Elaine Steinbeck, wife of author John Steinbeck, had amassed two storage units full of memorabilia and personal belongings that had been sitting in storage for nearly a decade. Our family turned to Elyse Luray at Heritage Auctions, who oversaw every aspect of the consignment process from storage removal to cataloguing and promotion, up until auction day. She made it quick and easy and our auction was a great success. I don't know what our family would've done without Heritage Auctions.
