Overall Condition: Very Good
Condition Notes: Bvlgari created this bracelet using 63 star sapphires and rubies, set in a graduated design that tapers from the ends toward the center. The cabochons range from approximately 7.25 x 6.30 x 3.50 mm to 8.50 x 7.50 x 4.50 mm and exhibit distinct asterism, especially pronounced in sunlight, ideal for daytime wear.
The bracelet is accompanied by a copy of the original Bvlgari sales receipt, confirming both the stone count and purchase amount, along with a Bvlgari appraisal valuing the piece at $75,000. A letter of provenance from Heritage Auctions, co-signed by the trustee of the Administrative Trust and the Executive Director of Heritage Jewelry, confirms that the bracelet belonged to Shirley Temple Black.
The bracelet remains in very good visual condition, with only minor natural cavities at the base of some cabochons, visible under magnification and consistent with the material.
Bvlgari: A Greek goldsmith, Sotirio Bvlgari, founded the Italian firm Bvlgari in Rome in 1881. Together with his sons, Bvlgari created magnificent jewels embodying the spirit, classicism and ageless beauty of Greek and Roman art, with a modern flair. Their distinctive style employed heavy link chains supporting ancient coins with gem accents. Fashion-minded celebrities as well as the aristocracy became devout Bvlgari patrons. The luxury brand Bvlgari set a high bar for Italian jewelry competitors for over a century. The firm continues under the LVMH umbrella.
