Judy Geib: Originally from Reading, PA, Judy Geib moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1980 to pursue her passion for art. For 20 years, she focused on paintings and objects, while having a “day job” in architecture and book design. Unexpectedly, her studio work took a turn toward jewelry. Having a foundation in only basic metalworking from a high school class, Geib self-educated herself on jewelry creation. In 2002, her first collection of twelve pieces was picked up by Barneys New York. Today the jeweler enjoys acquiring gemstones for her jewelry from the source, mixing rare and common material, and gains inspiration from architecture, the ocean, politics, embroidery and other crafts.
