Condition Notes: A pop of blue blends with the shine of 18k gold in this bracelet by Henry Dunay, known for his sculptural forms and attention to detail. Full-cut diamonds, each measuring approximately 2.95 mm to 3.25 mm, add brilliance across the surface. At each end, well carved lapis flowers take center stage measuring 20 mm - 21 mm in diameter. The bracelet opens with a hinge on one side and secures with a concealed clasp and figure-eight safety latch. The inside is marked Dunay 18k. The textured finish may reflect his signature Sabi approach, developed in the 1970s and inspired by the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi. This method involves hand-carving and polishing to create an undulating, tactile surface as seen here.
Henry Dunay: Henry Dunay began faceting gold in 1967, little realizing that it would become his signature and most important selling innovation. Today, Dunay is one of the leading jewelers in America, and an international star. He crafts his treasures in yellow gold, always designing with an eye for how a piece will look on a woman. His creations are well-detailed, sculptural forms ala miniature art objects. He shuns mass-market production preferring, instead, to create limited numbers of artistic, beauty-inspired items.
