Condition Notes: This distinguished Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet is a vivid expression of Colombian emeralds and French craftsmanship, set in 18k yellow gold with the house’s hallmark excellence on full show. At the center are five GIA-certified octagonal Colombian emeralds, each displaying a richly saturated green hue that is highly coveted in the gemstone world. The stones range in size from approximately 6.98 x 6.34 x 3.82 mm to 9.17 x 8.14 x 5.53 mm. Four of the five emeralds have been graded by GIA as having insignificant clarity enhancement (F1), while one is noted as moderate (F2). The surrounding diamonds are notably high in both clarity and color, and exhibit no major damage under close inspection. The bracelet secures with a box clasp and figure-eight safety latch, and is stamped Van Cleef & Arpels, with serial number M38071. A French 18k gold hallmark is stamped on the tongue of the clasp, confirming its authenticity and origin.
Van Cleef & Arpels: Parisian jeweler Alfred Van Cleef opened his salon in partnership with his brothers-in-law, Julien and Charles Arpels, in 1906. The company quickly earned a reputation for using only the highest-quality colored gemstones. Their timeless designs employed elegant curves and clean, fluid lines, capturing the essence of beauty in motion. In 1930, the firm patented the first minaudiere, a purse-like compartmentalized vanity case. In 1933, Van Cleef and Arpels introduced "invisible setting" or "mystery setting." This innovative technique took the market by storm. The firm continues under the umbrella of the Richemont Group.
