Condition Notes: This antique brooch is crafted in high karat gold, XRF-tested to approximately 22k, and is completed with a white metal pin and catch for secure fastening. At its center lies a richly hued amethyst measuring approximately 22.00 x 19.00 mm, set in a closed-back mount that enhances its deep, regal tone. Encircling the amethyst are eight oval-shaped yellowish-green sapphires, adding an elegant color contrast to the intricate goldwork. The filigree detailing surrounding the stones displays exquisite metalwork typical of fine 19th-century craftsmanship. A small area at the top center, just behind one sapphire, indicates the former presence of a bail—now lost—which could be replaced to allow conversion to a pendant.
