    The brooch features European and rose-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 0.75 carats, enhanced by modified pear-shaped amethyst measuring 12.00 - 12.50 x 4.00 - 3.50 mm, accented by round-shaped demantoid garnets weighing a total of approximately 0.05 carat, set in silver-topped 14k gold. Gross weight 7.20 grams.

    Notes: This piece is truly special. It is possibly a representation of what is known as a suffragette jewel. The suffragettes, fighting for women's right to vote, utilized the colors to symbolize the movement: purple, white and green. These colors were also used in jewelry that could be worn by women to express their support of the cause. One rose-cut diamond is missing from near the body of the dragonfly.
