    Ceylon Sapphire, Diamond, Platinum Brooch
    The brooch features cushion-shaped purple and blue sapphires ranging in size from 7.50 x 6.12 mm to 8.80 x 6.60 mm and weighing a total of approximately 14.35 carats, enhanced by full-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 0.85 carat, accented by baguette-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 0.30 carat, set in platinum. A C. Dunaigre report # CDC 1308204, dated August 28, 2013, stating Sapphires & Purple Sapphire, (Natural Corundum), Origin Sri Lanka (Ceylon), No Indications of Heating, accompanies the sapphires. Gross weight 16.00 grams.

    Condition Notes: An essential! Marked PT950. Completed by a pinstem and trombone catch on the reverse. Accompanying report does not state how many stones were tested and the measurements in the report do not match actual stone measurements. The sapphires have moderate to heavy nicks, chips, and/or abrasions on the tops and/or the bottom halves of the stones. Stamped with unidentified maker's mark. Circa 1950.
