When the pin stem is threaded through for wear, the piece displays wonderful presence, featuring 3.30 mm diamonds of high color and clarity. The 18k yellow gold leaf accents provide a tasteful contrast, and the piece overall is crafted in platinum. The reverse of one leaf component is marked 18k/Plat, adjacent to a hallmark for McTeigue & Co. This piece comes with the original design rendering by the manufacturers which adds an additional layer of presentation.
McTeigue & Company: Founded in New York in 1885 by Walter P. McTeigue, the firm established a reputation for manufacturing fine diamond jewelry. By the 1920’s, under the name McTeigue & Company, their designs were showcased on a regular basis in the jewelry trade publication “Jewelers’ Circular.” The business has changed hands on more than one occasion, most recently in 1991, when McTeigue & Co. was acquire by Tiffany & Co.
