Ruby, Diamond, Platinum BroochThe brooch features round and oval-shaped ruby cabochons weighing a total of approximately 31.00 carats, enhanced by full and single-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 2.50 carats, set in platinum, attributed to Laykin et Cie. Gross weight 50.60 grams.

Magnin & Co. on January 1, 1970 for $11,550. Ruby cabochons measure 5.75 - 5.90 x 3.75 mm to 6.70 - 6.85 x 4.20 mm. Oval-shaped ruby cabochons measure 6.70 x 5.25 x 3.75 mm to 8.85 x 6.10 x 4.25 mm.
Laykin et Cie: Known as the designer-to-the-stars, Laykin et Cie was founded in 1932 by Soloman W. Laykin on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, California. During the time of Hollywood Glamour from the 1930’s to early 1970’s, the company rose to success by supplying movie stars with jewels. The pieces quickly became a favorite among celebrities.
