Condition Notes: After inspection the pink hue of this topaz appears to be natural and not a result of artificial coating. It is noted within the industry and GIA literature that certain varieties of topaz, when they contain notable amounts of chromium, may be enhanced to pink shades through radiation or heat treatment. This chromium content gives a moderate pinkish-red fluorescence to this example, uncommon for topaz. Measuring 15.50 x 7.50 x 4.00 mm, this pink topaz is an exceptional specimen of one of the rarer colors of topaz, primarily sourced from Pakistan and Brazil. The stone is bezel-set but shows a decent accumulation of abrasions, nicks, and scratches. Despite these imperfections, it is considered to be in good condition for its age and potential for future cutting. The piece features Fabergé-stylized enamel detailing, which shows minor cracking. Some of the rose-cut diamonds are not secure within their settings. The piece also bears illegible hallmarks to the framework and pinstem.
*Heritage Auctions strongly encourages in-person inspection of items by the bidder.
