Each panel presents a balanced arrangement of curved, ribbon like forms and stylized botanical accents, set throughout with rose cut diamonds.
These green stones are identified as demantoid garnets, a highly prized variety of andradite known for exceptional brilliance and dispersion. Discovered in Russia in the mid 19th century, demantoids saw peak use in jewelry during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, making their presence strongly associated with antique production.
One demantoid exhibits chipping within its setting. Additionally, based on internal characteristics and a slightly differing green hue, two stones near one terminal end appear to be grossular garnets rather than demantoid, likely representing later replacements. Articulation throughout allows for fluid movement.
