    The suite includes a necklace composed of cultured pearls measuring 8.00 - 9.00 mm, forming two knotted strands, enhanced by full-cut diamonds weighing a total of 1.20 carats, completed by an 18k gold clasp accented by a cultured pearl measuring 4.00 - 4.20 mm; together with a pair of earrings featuring cultured pearls measuring 8.00 - 8.20 mm, accented by full-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 0.25 carat, set in 18k gold; both having a maker's mark for Mikimoto. Gross weight 95.10 grams.

    Condition Notes: A classic combo. Clasp and posts marked 750 with maker's mark for Mikimoto. Stud earrings are completed by posts with friction backs. Accompanied by a copy of a Certificate for Retail Replacement Valuation dated March 27, 2013.
    Mikimoto: The name Mikimoto is synonymous with the highest quality Japanese cultured pearls available. Its founder, Kokichi Mikimoto, was an early pioneer in the concept of pearl farming. While he was not the first to invent the culturing process, Mikimoto did refine it, patenting his technique. He is recognized as the master of the culturing process. The need for culturing pearls arose out of the demise of the natural pearl market in 1930, when over-fishing and pollution devastated pearl beads. Today, cultured pearls are farmed worldwide with Japan, China, Australia and Thailand the leading producers.
