Diamond, Emerald, White Gold, Convertible Pendant
The pendant features baguette, full, and single-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 5.50 carats, enhanced by square and fancy-cut emeralds, set in 18k white gold; having a detachable center component featuring a European-cut diamond measuring 6.20 - 6.00 x 3.40 mm and weighing approximately 0.85 carat, enhanced by baguette, full, and single-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 0.75 carat, accented by square-cut emeralds, set in 18k white gold. Total diamond weight for the pendant is approximately 7.10 carats. Original frame marked Tiffany & Co. Gross weight 17.10 grams.

Notes: This piece was originally designed as a brooch - designed and manufactured by Tiffany & Co. The brooch was later adapted, having the pinstem and catch removed, the addition of the pendant bail and a removable stickpin head. The head inserts into the center of the design. Stickpin stem has since been lost. Very unique piece. One emerald is missing. Two emeralds are chipped.

Tiffany & Co.: Charles Lewis Tiffany (1812-1902) founded the firm that bears his name in 1837. The boutique style business retailed stationery, silver, jewelry and objects d'art. With the growth of their jewelry interests, Tiffany soared. The company is credited with revolutionizing the jewelry industry by the invention of the open six-prong diamond setting. By 1907, the son of the founder, Louis Comfort Tiffany, rose to international attention for his profusion of the arts: painting, art glass and jewelry. As Tiffany & Company expanded, they offered select designers the ability to sign their pieces designed for the Tiffany & Co. brand; such as in 1955 Donald Claflin and Jean Schlumberger, in 1967 Angela Cummings, later Elsa Peretti in 1974 and most recently Paloma Picasso in 1980.
