    The abstract wire brooch centers a cushion-shaped kunzite measuring 17.60 x 12.30 x 10.50 mm and weighing approximately 18.70 carats, enhanced by full-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 0.70 carat, set in 18k gold, marked AMG for Alan Gard, having English hallmarks. Gross weight 31.20 grams.

    Condition Notes: An absolute classic look of the abstract 70's! Marked with AMG and assay stamps on tip of a few of the wires. One wire displays minor crack. Completed by a pinstem and catch on the reverse.
    Alan Gard: Alan Gard is a British Jeweler, born in London, who is classically trained and apprenticed with Crombies Jewelers of Bond Street. He worked with Alexander Grima, among other highly collectible jewelers and designed many award-winning engagement rings for DeBeers before he established his own jewelry atelier. Interestingly, he created the jewelry for the 1971 movie “Nicholas and Alexandra” based on the Robert K Massie book, which went on to win Academy Awards for Best Costume Design and Best Art Direction-Set Direction. He also designed the jewelry worn in the 1966 spy comedy “Modesty Blaise”, based on the popular comic strip by Peter O’Donnell, who also co-wrote the story upon which the screenplay was based.
