Condition Notes: For reference, the rubies measure approximately 8.70 x 9.20 x 5.40 mm, 10.17 x 9.10 x 4.40 mm, 8.90 x 9.10 x 5.78 mm, 10.20 x 8.50 x 4.83 mm, 6.90 x 6.80 x 3.99 mm, and 7.29 x 6.54 x 3.48 mm. Each stone displays a vivid blood-red coloration with impressive presence and weight. Some rubies exhibit internal characteristics consistent with minimal or no heat treatment, with some surface reaching features. The cuff links are crafted to the high standards associated with David Webb, each marked "Webb" and confirmed to be 18k gold. The shirt studs, while complementary in style, are incomplete, one of the original three is missing, and they are not signed by Webb. These studs are marked 14k gold. The cuff links weigh 17.30 grams and the shit studs weigh 6.00 grams.
David Webb: Formed in 1946 by partners David Webb and Nina Silberstein, David Webb Inc. created colorful jewelry recognized for its bold, sculptural design. Webb drew inspiration from the work of Cartier, Seaman Schepps, Faberge and Verdura. His passion for color, texture, enamel, gems and unusual materials brought him to the forefront of jewelry design in the 1950s and 1960s. His fondness for nature and ancient cultures influenced his most famous motifs, stylized animals and flowers. David Webb created contemporary wearable gold sculptures until his death in 1975.
