Condition Notes: A traditional and ornate Indian jewelry lot, comprising three pieces: one bracelet with a concealed clasp, one ring, and one pair of earrings with omega clip backs. This suite showcases the rich decorative language of Indian craftsmanship, blending foil-backed gemstones, vibrant enamel accents, and classic gemstone combinations.
The suite features transparent and semi-transparent gemstones, all foil-backed to enhance their inner glow—an authentic technique commonly seen in traditional Indian and Mughal jewelry. The ensemble includes coral cabochons, polki diamonds (uncut, faceted diamonds in traditional settings), half pearls, and decorative enameled elements. Some enamel areas show minor damage consistent with age and wear, but the overall presentation remains vibrant and complete.
Based on magnified inspection, the pieces in this jewelry suite appear to have been crafted in traditional Indian styles using the Kundan technique. Kundan is a historic gem-setting method in which highly refined gold foil is used to set stones into intricate designs. While the visible surfaces are often finished in high-karat gold, the underlying structure is typically composed of a non-gold base metal, allowing for elaborate yet lightweight construction.
