Condition Notes: Blue opal is a rare, opaque-to-translucent variety of opal found primarily in Peru. Unlike traditional opals, it lacks play-of-color but is valued for its vivid blue to blue-green hues, often resembling tropical waters. Its color results from trace amounts of copper interacting with its silica-based composition during formation. This piece is stamped 14k MK and features a lobster claw clasp.
