    Black, Starr & Frost: Isaac Marquand established Black, Starr & Frost in New York City in 1810, creating one of America’s most renowned jewelry firms with a rich and colorful history expanding over two centuries. The company had many historical firsts, including displaying jewelry in their storefront windows, originating window shopping. The family-owned generational business was also one of the first to be traded on the New York Stock Exchange, created the first choker necklace, and invented the safety deposit box system and fireproof buildings so clients could safely store their jewelry.
