Condition Notes: An Ippolita necklace that features a treasure trove of gems. Marked Ippolita, 18K and is completed by a lobster clasp with ring closure.
Ippolita: She was born in Florence on December 10, 1963. At an early age she was inspired by the sculptures of Henry Moore. She attended the Istituto d'Arte in 1982. She immigrated to Los Angeles in 1983, and after completing her BA in English Literature at Occidental College, moved to New York. She began designing jewelry in 1993 and launched her first 18k gold jewelry collection at Bergdorf Goodman in 2000. In 2008 she launched her silver line, and rosé, a proprietary gold and silver alloy makes its debut.
