She started her own apparel company that was sold at high -end department stores, before venturing into fashion magazines as a fashion director and then as Editor-in-chief. In 1987 Marilyn joined Fred Leighton as a designer where she became adept at deconstruction and re-designing old and outdated jewelry. In 1994 she launched her own company displaying her pieces at shows throughout the US and abroad. Her work has been celebrated by collectors, private clients and the media.
