    Opal, Platinum Convertible Necklace, Karin Stirnemann




    The Path of Enlightenment necklace features round and oval-shaped opal cabochons ranging in size from 5.70 mm to 17.87 x 15.60 mm; a detachable pair of earrings featuring opal cabochons ranging in size from 6.45 x 6.30 mm to 15.65 x 12.75 mm are incorporated into the necklace design; set in platinum, designed by Karin Stirnemann. Total opal weight is 148.00 carats. Gross weight 84.00 grams.

    Earring Dimensions: 1-3/16 inches x 5/8 inch, 1-1/8 inches x 5/8 inch
    *Note: earrings are designed for pierced ears

    The opals were cut and provided by Cody Opal, Melbourne Australia. Featured on Page 16 of the book The Opal Story by Andrew & Damien Cody.

    Condition Notes: A necklace once on display in the GIA museum is now within reach. The necklace design incorporates the earrings. The earrings can be detached from the necklace creating a smaller necklace or be worn separately as earrings. The plaque adhered to the interior of the accompanying box states: "Path of Enlightenment contains 87 Fire Australian Crystal Opals weighing 148 carats. Platinum Set 67 Grams. Designed by 1999 AGTA International Spectrum Award Winner: Karin Stirnemann". Earrings are completed by collapsible posts on the reverse and accompanied by platinum friction backs.
