Victorian Glass, Gilt Atomizer Chatelaine
Element: Glass
Metal: Silver vermeil
Gross Weight: 157.60 grams
Dimensions: 7-7/8 inches x 2-1/8 inches

Property from a North Florida Collection

Condition Report*: Metals:
Silver

Overall Condition: Good
Condition Notes: A decorative and functional personal accessory from the Victorian era, this chatelaine features a gilt silver frame suspending a leaded glass perfume atomizer. The atomizer is crafted from cut or molded glass—often referred to as rock crystal in similar designs, and fitted with a silver-gilt mount that includes a hinged cap or spray mechanism. Worn at the waist and attached to a belt or chain, such pieces served as both utilitarian objects and ornamental expressions of personal style.
Offered with a fitted box by Christopher Sewell Jewellers. Note: The box is missing half of the lid, and the atomizer cap does not secure shut.
